Learn how to create textured and dimensional effects using stencils. We will start with a series of creative exercises that demonstrate both dimensional and non-dimensional techniques that will be put together to make a take-home guide that you can refer to after the class. You will be introduced to a series of products, provided by the instructor, which can be used with stencils to create dimensional effects in your artwork. You will then be taught a series of mixed media paint layering techniques and subsequently add your favorite approaches and supplies to create stunning stenciled art.

Introducing Seth

I am a mixed media artist, instructor, author and designer from New York City. My artwork has been exhibited in multiple exhibitions and can be found in numerous books and national magazines. I am the voice behind The Pulse, a series of international, collaborative projects that are the basis for my books “The Pulse of Mixed Media: Secrets and Passions of 100 Artists Revealed” and “The Mixed-Media Artist: Art Tips, Tricks, Secrets and Dreams From Over 40 Amazing Artists”, both released by North Light Books. I am the artist behind two workshop DVDs: Easy Mixed Media Surface Techniques and Easy Mixed Media Techniques for the Art Journal. I am an instructor at Pratt Institute in NYC and my live workshops have been held throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia and the UK. I have a mixed media line with Spellbinders Paper Arts, a stencil line with StencilGirl Products and a stamp line with Impression Obsession. I am a member of CHA and a columnist for Cloth Paper Scissors magazine.
