Polymer Clay

In this one day workshop we will explore the magic of the Skinner Blend to make polymer clay canes and how to reduce and shape your canes.  The canes can be shaped into rods or sheets and then sliced.   Each slice is a beautiful present and can be used to create jewelry, mixed media pieces, mosaic pieces or used to cover items.   You will also learn how to combine two skinner blend canes which will be reduced carefully to make one beautiful complex cane.  The magic happens when reducing the cane and then making slices.  You will be leaving the workshop with some beautiful canes.

Once you’re done with this work shop you can use your new ‘know how’ to build all sorts of shaped canes and start to enjoy the wonderful journey of Polymer Clay.  I will share many tips and techniques to help you achieve a beautifully finished cane.

Agenda:

  • How to make a Skinner Blend (two color and three color blends)
  • Reduce and shape the cane.
  • Putting it together to make a flower or graphic cane.
  • Complex Cane – Create two skinner blends, reduce into plugs, slice, stack,  shape and reduce (carefully)
