Polymer Clay *INRO* Box

Polymer Clay Inro

An inrō is a traditional Japanese case for holding small objects, suspended from the obi. They are often highly decorated, in a variety of materials and techniques. In this workshop we will cover a small box with a small photo and polymer clay.  Then we will decorate the box with polymer clay canes, beads and embellishments.

 

What to Bring:

  • Basic clay tools (pasta machine, blade, texture sheets, cookie cutters, etc.)  We will have some machines and cookie cutters to share but these will be available to purchase .
  • Sculpey Premo! Or Soufflé clay already conditioned – Clay will be available at the store to purchase
  • Small water bottle ( to spritz the texture sheet)
  • Knitting needle – used to smooth the edges of the clay
  • Sculpey Liquid Polymer Clay (at store)
  • Round nose pliers
  • Wire cutters
  • Small flat Paint brush to apply liquid polymer clay.  Small cup, to be filled with water to clean the brush.
  • Small beads and spacer beads (I will bring some to purchase)
  • 1 ½ x 1 “  photos (I will bring some)

** I will bring pieces of the acrylibit and the match boxes.

 

Agenda:

  • Prepare art work and acrylibit
  • Prepare match box and inside tray
  • Cover box and apply acrylibit frame
  • Decorate match box
  • Bake
  • Put it all together
