Inner Dialogue: The Art of Visual Expression

Want to create magic on your journal pages?

For most artists, paper, paint, mark making and journaling represent doorways to new experiences and insights. Most artists that I know are always trying to discover and learn something new. We’re eager for new ideas, new techniques, anything that will get us in the studio and working.

I want to start a fire in you! I want journaling to be rich, magical, expressive and unlike any other form of creating that you can do. How do we do that? By working, brainstorming and taking risks.

In this day long workshop, we’ll create a one of a kind hardcover journal (with a hidden paper pocket) that will call to you whenever you are ready to reach for the scissors or paintbrush.

Discover new ideas and possibilities in art making that are already nestled deep within you. Expand, explore and experiment and bring your inner artist out and onto your pages.

Supply list:  an apron, scissors, a small selection of favorite collage ephemera (think about reading this when choosing your images and papers), baby wipes, cork back metal ruler, a full roll of paper towels OR old rags, a container for your paint water, your favorite paint brushes, a water brush pen (OR an extra fine, detail paint brush *ONLY* IF you have one),  a few of your favorite LARGE glue sticks (please trust me when I say that large glue sticks will last you longer. I always have two or three 40 gram glue sticks in my journal bag and that’s more than enough for a long weekend. You WILL go through the smaller glue sticks in MINUTES), roll of waxed paper OR an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don’t want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)

My workshops are always about inspiring creativity, generating ideas and learning how to see. The ideas can be translated into a variety of art forms. Use your art journal “as is” or for a springboard of inspiration for other art forms and living a creative life! I am well known for not traveling light and bring a large variety of supplies including (but not limited to) acrylic paints and mediums, collage material, rubber stamps, stencils, pens, markers, tape and more.

Please note there is a small supply list below the class descriptions.

Beginners to advanced are welcome in ALL of my classes.

Let's hear from you . . .
