Scrapbook Celebraties Tim Holtz

A lovely time with Tim & Mario

Written by Michelle Mccosh

This post has been a long time coming!!!  Seven years to be exact.  That is how long Everything Scrapbook & Stamps has been on the waiting list for Tim Holtz.  But it was well worth the wait – we had the most amazing time, shared lots of laughter (and I mean lots) and learned some wonderful techniques.

Here is a little recap:

Back in October we had a highly anticipated series of classes with the fabulous Tim Holtz and Mario Rossi.  We rearranged the store quite a bit to accommodate more people taking classes.  We started knocking down a couple of walls in the back of the store in August.  Of course as I just like to pile the work on, so as well as completely rearranging the store (I did have some deconstruction help from a wonderful customer), I attended a retail event out of town, came back, then a few days later jumped on a cruise ship to teach for a week, and came back with what I thought was a full two weeks to complete the store redesign, but we had a hurricane trailing us which caused us to lose a few days of productivity.

P.S. Major Girl Power to add hurricane shutters to the store

In the end we had to take a lot of fixtures and product to storage. . . .  but it all worked out and we were able to have 40 people in each class.

Two hours before I was due to drive to the airport to pick up Tim and Mario, we even had a pallet of stuff dropped right at the front door.  Yep you read that correctly “A PALLET”  I don’t think a team of stevedores could have emptied a pallet faster than we did!

The girls that worked tirelessly to get the store organized and worked the event were just amazing and I can’t thank them enough for their dedication.  We even had an ex employee drive down from North Carolina to help.

Tim taught “Creative Chemistry – LIVE” a technique class using all things distress, and “Holiday Artful Assemblage” a made “just for us” panel full of idea-ology festive products.

Tim of course is super organized and wrote his blog post recap the day after the classes.  Here is what Tim had to say:

oh and if the visit wasn’t fabulous enough – I celebrated my birthday.   I got to spend it with lovely friends who surprised me with cake, balloons and showered me with gifts and of course Mario and  Tim were at my party!!

what could be better than that?!?!

Thank you tim and mario for a great time!  Hopefully we will see you back at Everything Scrapbook & Stamps soon!

Let's hear from you . . .
